The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology is responsible for providing instruction in pharmacology, toxicology and medicinal chemistry to PharmD students and for providing graduate education to students in a variety of research tracks. Our research interests focus on designing and synthesizing “bioinspired” materials, which actively regulate stem cell behavior. We published 244 papers between 2011 and 2015 (44 of which in journals with an impact factor >5).

Dose-response is a relationship between exposure and health effect, that can be established by measuring the response relative to an increasing dose. This relationship is important in determining the toxicity of a particular substance (2). It relies on the concept that a dose, or a time of exposure (to a chemical, drug, or toxic substance), will cause an effect (response) on the exposed organism , e.g. Reviews of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology 188 Reviews of Environmental Contamination.
